ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Garage is an interactive art piece built for Black Rock City. It stands as a tribute to builders, workers , craftsman and laborers from around the world. It honors the people working behind the scenes. The ones who toil and make things happen with little to no recognition.
This typical suburban garage is the kind of unglamorous, overlooked space where so many projects actually begin – the place where we create, tinker, hang out, escape, store our tools and memorabilia.
Participants are invited to dig through boxes, catch a live band, play foosball, basketball, fix things, put on a show, meet people, and just hang out. It’s a space for connection, bringing the behind-the-scenes work to the forefront by inspiring others, sharing knowledge, and working with and helping people. By the workers, for the workers. Opening our garage to all.
